This course is designed to help course takers gain an understanding of what implicit bias and microaggressions are, the science behind these concepts and how to prevent imposing them on others.

Tammy L. Hodo, PhD
Tammy Hodo is a visiting assistant sociology professor at the University of North Florida where she teaches courses on racial and ethnic minorities, as well as sociology and research methods. She uses critical race theory as the framework for her research. Her teaching and research focus on the experiences of minorities in academia – both faculty and students – specifically at predominantly white institutions.
