Words can help in a situation involving non-consent. This course uses a live-action scenario to cover the tactics of verbal defense, and how to employ ways to de-escalate or escape a dangerous situation without heightening the conflict. Other topics include: the value of presenting clear boundaries, how to develop self-conceived verbal defense tactics and how to contextualize verbal defense to individual circumstances.

Pearlman, PhD holds specialized experience and knowledge in learning theory, online learning research, and socio-cultural topics such as sexual assault prevention, and alcohol and drug abuse. He’s conceptualized and authored numerous Not Anymore programs and served as a consultant for the U.S. Army’s initiatives to curtail sexual violence.
